Anne de Mondenard is a historian in photography, qualified
at the Louvre School and Louis Lumière School.
After she unveiled the collection of photographs of the Museum
of French Monuments, revealed through the exhibition "Photographier
l'architecture, 1851-1920" (Photographing Architecture,
1851-1920) (1994) of which she tackled the commission
and the writing of the catalogue, she is the commissioner
of the exhibition "Edouard Baldus, photographe"
(1996) at the Museum of French Monuments.
She entered the Architecture and Patrimony Media Library (Ministry
for Culture) where she has been, since 1996, responsible for
the collection of photographs.
In her book, "La Mission héliographique, cinq
photographes parcourent la France en 1851" (Paris, Monum,
2002), she recounted the history and adventure of the first
public order in the history of photography, when the great
primitives distinguished themselves, Edouard Baldus, Hippolyte
Bayard, Henri Le Secq, Gustave Le Gray and Auguste Mestral.
Parallely to the publishing of this book, she was the commissioner
of the exhibition devoted to the Heliographic Mission, presented
at the European House of Photography, in 2002.
Anne de Mondenard took part, as a commissioner or as an author
in catalogues, in other exhibitions. Among others, she was
the commissioner of the exhibition "Une passion française,
photographies de la collection Roger Thérond",
presented at the European House of Photography, in 1999.
In the catalogue accompanying the exhibition, she devoted
a text to the photographs collectors: "La ronde des collectionneurs"
(Paris, Sonodip, 1999).
