Joseph Chiaramonte "Le barbue d'Anvers"

Joseph Chiaramonte starts in the world of image by directing promotional films in Brussels. Then, he spins off IMAGO, his graphic art studio, and during 5 years, he works with advertising agencies around Lille. His works as an Artistic Director confirms his interest for photography. His first pictures were posters for rock bands. He discovers Interview, Andy Warhol’s magazine, and decides to spin off his own, Regard’s. Then, he meets the greatest photographers, designers, couturiers of the 80’s, now become icons. Amongst his more famous works, a promotional film in 35mm for EuroRscg and Decathlon, and his worldwide campaign for “Pour un homme”, perfume by Caron. His career as a photographer grows as the fashion seasons and the mail order selling catalogues go. Today, he goes back in the arms of his first love, Regard’s, with Sight Magazine, an online magazine exploring the visual and graphical worlds that influence him and that he likes the most. Thanks to his photographical writing, his curiosity and his fashion insight, he’s now unique in Lille area.

Joseph Chiaramonte "Sight Magazine"

“In the middle of the 80’s, Regard’s, a forerunner magazine, used to explore the universes of artistic creativeness, fashion, architecture, design, painting, and interviewed the favourites and young talents, some of them become today’s icons.
Following the steps of Regard’s, its editor, Joseph Chiaramonte established Sight Magazine, a nest for talents yet to be sublimated. Today Sight Magazine gets back to this investigation of contemporary creation environment, through portraits of photographs, architects, stylists, designers, famous or unknown, but also through photos of places and things.
In Regard’s publication of March 1985, to the question: “yet you are an avant-garde person. In this relational universe, how do you convey past and present?” Karl Lagerfeld quoted Goethe: “Build up a better future with the things from the past”.
We make every effort to that with Sight Magazine.
Sight Magazine also have in mind the issues of its time, particularly when it comes to editing and content. Sight is above all on the web, thus allowing a multiplicity of contents, from video to photography, text or sound. Limited editions, sporadically published, are also printed to point up the most beautiful contents of Sight magazine, collectors »
