Ewa Lowzyl "LOCH NESS et autres photographies"



I always have this photograph in mind. It happens sometimes with some pictures that literally engrave your memory. It is the case of that photo – a child-cyborg, a girl-doll, looking at the viewer with her disturbing eyes (are they made of glass?).

Sometimes, during my classes, I tell students that we all are a bit of a cyborg ourselves, and they all look quite appalled. But if you think about it, the borderline between the real world and the virtual world is so thin, those two worlds penetrate and influence each other mutually, and to remain in the virtual world can sometimes be really “real”. This may help to understand better that our condition as a human is also a cyborg condition
