Jeanloup Sieff "Jeanloup Sieff 64+4"

Exhibition and screening realised by Barbara Rix-Sieff, Valérie Servant.

Jeanloup Sieff was born in November, 30th 1933 in Paris, and died in September, 20th 2000, leaving a work become a must of the photography from the second end of the 20th century. Journalist, portraitist, landscape artist, he spreads his genius in the art of photographical nude and fashion. He worked, among others, with magazines like Nova, Elle, Vogue, Twen, Jardin de Modes, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Glamour, Queen…
We owe him the famous pictures – once shocking, now cult – of the messianic nude of Yves Saint-Laurent for his eau de toilette, memorable campaigns for Rosy’s underwear, or shoes by Carel. He published more than fifteen works, and wrote the text for most of them, from “J’aime la danse” (1962) to “Faites comme si je n’étais pas là” (2000). The Steidl editions has just edited “Les Indiscrètes, photographies inédites de Jeanloup Sieff”. Unique.
